MY LATEST ADVENTURE
South East Asia
It was a major decision to sell almost everything I owned, move out of my place, and venture out to South East Asia. After years of talking about how incredible it would be to live abroad and tour foreign lands with my camera, the timing couldn't have been more perfect. Equipped with my camera gear, a macbook, some clothes and a few other essentials loaded into my backpack, I set out on a solo journey across eleven unbelievable countries in eleven unforgettable months.
UPDATE! After completely filling up my passport, I headed home to the States to visit family and friends. I got my old job back. It was definitely a culture shock being back home. No street food, no mopeds, sleeping in my own room, and working the 9-5. I knew the adjustment would be difficult. And at the same time I knew deep down that I couldn't go back to this life. The next thing I know I'm back on workaway.info looking for a volunteer gig. All the work sending out emails to hostels, farms, schools, and dog sitting opportunities finally paid off. I landed a gig on an island off the caribbean coast of Mexico as the event photographer at a hostel bar! Tribu Hostel is the number one hostel on the small island, hands down. Free accomodation just a block from the turquoise ocean and white sandy beach. Two months without shoes, sunset walks on the beach and fresh seafood was exactly what I needed. A few months in Mexico turned into 6 and a half months living and traveling around this wonderful country! Please follow along on my adventures as I continue south. Currently in Colombia after three great months on Lake Atitlan, Guatemala! Stay tuned!
